~~A morning rant by Terran Ward
As I sit here with two completely different wedding budgets in front of me—one a luxe European château affair, the other an intimate dinner tucked inside a waterfall—I’m reminded why I love what I do. Both are beautiful. Both are intentional. And both are valid.
From Luxury Wedding Planning to Elopements: Every Celebration is Beautiful
I’ve planned million-dollar weddings with custom everything, and I’ve also planned “just us” elopements where the couple’s biggest splurge was on their outfits and a killer photographer. Guess what? They were both elegant. Both worthy of praise. Both designed around what mattered most to them.

Dismantling the “One Right Way to Marry” Mentality
So why is wedding shaming still a thing?
We’ve all seen the snarky online comments: “That’s not a real wedding,” “Why would you spend that much on florals,” or “I could never do something that small.” It’s exhausting. Can we retire the idea that a wedding has to fit into one mold to be beautiful?
Beauty is subjective. Taste is personal. And at the end of the day, if you’re getting married for the right reasons, and doing what feels true to you, that is luxury.
So whether you’re going full-on ballroom or candlelit dinner for two, the right planner (hi, it’s me) will always understand the assignment.
Just some real talk while I sip my matcha and start my day.
