Chestnut Ridge is one of Western North Carolina’s most loved venues—a modern white barn tucked into the mountains that balances elegance with warmth. It’s chic, functional, and welcoming, making it a go-to for couples who want modern design without losing that mountain charm.
At Terran Ward Events, I curate weddings at Chestnut Ridge that feel effortless and elevated. The venue already gives you so much to work with—I just help bring it all together in a way that feels personal, stylish, and totally you.
Why Couples Choose Chestnut Ridge
- A light-filled modern barn with timeless white architecture
- Ceremony and reception spaces all within walking distance (super convenient for guests, especially older crowds)
- A décor closet full of candles, lanterns, signs, and styling pieces that couples can use—and they keep adding more
- Location close to Asheville but far enough out to feel private and tucked away
Chestnut Ridge is about ease and flexibility—it’s designed to let you host the whole day seamlessly in one place without shuttling guests all over town.

The Modern White Barn
A bright, vaulted reception space that’s clean and timeless—perfect for layering in color, texture, and design.
Outdoor Patios & Terraces
Great for cocktail hour, photos, or lounging under the Carolina sky.
Terran’s Hot Takes (a.k.a. What You Actually Need to Know)
- The Views – Don’t get it twisted—Chestnut Ridge isn’t a “long-range mountain view” venue. It’s in the valley, so to get views you literally have to hike up a hill, and only a few people can squeeze into those shots. If a ceremony backdrop with a sweeping view is non-negotiable for you, this isn’t the venue.
- Transportation – You can’t get a big 56-passenger motorcoach up there. If you’re booking transportation, you’ll need multiple smaller shuttles. Just know it can add up quickly in the budget.
- Catering – They don’t have in-house catering, but honestly, I think that’s a win. This is the perfect venue to bring in a food truck (my secret weapon for cutting catering budgets in half). Guests always love it, and it keeps the vibe fun and different.
- The Décor Closet – This is one of my favorite perks of Chestnut Ridge. Couples get access to their curated collection of lanterns, candles, signs, and more—and they’re always adding new pieces. It’s an easy way to stretch the design budget while still making things feel stylish.
Planning Insights from Terran Ward Events
Weddings at Chestnut Ridge are all about making the flow easy while layering in design that feels editorial and personal. When I plan here, I focus on:
- Using their décor closet smartly to elevate without overspending
- Designing layouts that flow well for both young and older guests (since everything’s close together, it’s a great multigenerational venue)
- Coordinating food trucks or catering teams to maximize the open layout
- Making sure transportation logistics are handled early so there are no surprises
