The Biltmore Estate is Asheville’s crown jewel—America’s largest privately owned home and hands down one of the most iconic wedding venues in the country. Between the grand architecture, sprawling gardens, and those Blue Ridge Mountain views, it’s the definition of “regal meets timeless.”
At Terran Ward Events, I design and produce weddings at the Biltmore that feel chic, elevated, and true to you. The estate is already larger-than-life; my job is to help you navigate the logistics and bring in design that makes it personal instead of cookie-cutter.
Why Couples Choose the Biltmore Estate
- The most jaw-dropping backdrop you’ll find in North Carolina
- 8,000 acres of gardens, mountains, and historic landscapes
- Multiple event spaces to fit your vibe—from grand and iconic to rustic chic
- A true wedding weekend experience with fine dining, wine, and luxury accommodations
If you want your wedding to feel iconic, unforgettable, and on a level that most people only dream about, Biltmore delivers.
Event Spaces at the Biltmore Estate
Biltmore House & Gardens
The most famous spot—and also the most expensive. It comes with a massive tent that’s impressive, but decorating it or outsourcing your own tent aesthetic is a major investment.
The Walled Garden
A lush, historic setting perfect for outdoor ceremonies surrounded by seasonal blooms.
Diana
A mountaintop terrace with sweeping views of both the house and the Blue Ridge Mountains. It’s dramatic, romantic, and truly one-of-a-kind.
Deerpark
A rustic yet elegant open-air courtyard with plenty of flexibility for design.
Lioncrest
A more private, versatile venue option that works beautifully for receptions or rehearsal dinners.
Terran’s Hot Takes (aka: What You Actually Need to Know)
- Budget Reality Check – If you don’t have at least $400K, don’t even look at the House & Gardens. Between venue, food, and bar, you’re looking at a base of around $215K—before design, rentals, or extras. That giant tent is stunning but eats budget fast.
- The Chairs – Biltmore should honestly be ashamed. For the kind of money they’re charging, the chair options are tragic. If you care about your aesthetic (and I know you do), plan to rent.
- Rules & Regulations – Biltmore is a beast of a company, and they have rules. Lots of them. Don’t expect to bend them. Be ready to play by their book.
- Multiple Weddings – There are often multiple weddings on the same weekend. If exclusivity is a big deal for you, keep that in mind before booking.
Planning Insights from Terran Ward Events
Planning at the Biltmore is a whole different level. You’re not just designing a wedding—you’re working within one of the largest estates in the country. My role is to make sure your day feels effortless and editorial, without you getting caught in the red tape. That often means:
- Coordinating guest accommodations and full weekend itineraries across the estate
- Weather-proofing your garden and terrace plans (because, Asheville)
- Managing vendors who can enhance—not fight—the estate’s character
- Taking big, grand spaces and layering in details that make them intimate and personal
Biltmore Weddings We’ve Planned
Every Biltmore wedding has its own vibe, from chic black tie to bold cultural celebrations. The backdrop is always incredible—it’s about making sure the design reflects you, not just the venue.
